Kid's Pack
Description
In Polk County one child in four struggles to get enough to eat. The public schools provide free breakfast and lunch on school days, but weekends are a different story. Children in need of help are identified by the school. On Fridays the school Kids Pack agent gives these kids a package of meals for the weekend. The meals are nutritious, healthy and can be eaten hot or cold. This past year Christ the King provided Kid's Pack meals for 65 schools.
How to Contribute
Christ the King partners with Fuel Church to pack the meals. The packings are usually the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at their church (U.S. 98 and Duff Road). The packings are easy, fun and you get to meet a lot of nice folks. You can also make a loose offering on Mission Sunday (the first Sunday of any month) which will be part of Christ the King's overall Outreach, provide a check made out to Christ the King with Kid's Pack in the Memo line with the funds to be forwarded from the church, or send directly to Kid's Pack, 2725 Frontage Road N, Suite 1, Lakeland, FL 33810. To become a Kid's Pack supporter is $25 per month which will provide 6 meals for one child for a month. To Adopt a Child costs $300 per year and will provide meals for 1 child every weekend. Or you can Volunteer to work in the warehouse or Volunteer to deliver the meals to the schools - YOU are needed. |
