We are a church dedicated to ministering God's love and cultivating faith.
At Christ the King, you will find a welcoming community of Jesus' followers seeking to discover God's grace in our lives and in the world around us. We are a place of refuge where faith is cultivated and God's love is ministered to everyone, everywhere, always. We are members of the Diocese of Central Florida, which is a diocese in The Episcopal Church which is itself a province of the Anglican Communion. We are, therefore, spiritual descendants and coworkers with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and members of the third largest Christian denomination in the world. What We Believe
We believe in following Jesus, whom we recognize as Messiah and Savior. We believe that in the waters of baptism, we become children of God, and members of the household of God (of which the Church is an integral part). Moreover, we have been God’s own life to share and are reminded that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ. Most importantly, we embrace an inclusive message of love and aspire to exemplify God’s love for every human being! We believe that God loves you and there is nothing that can separate you from the love of God in Jesus Christ. How We Worship We worship together according to the rites of the Book of Common Prayer (1979) and the traditions of Anglican spirituality. Episcopalians traditionally gather in community to worship together on Sundays. The principal worship service is the celebration of Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, or Mass. The Episcopal Church Welcomes You! Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We have a legacy of inclusion exemplified by our slogan "The Episcopal Church Welcome You!", Lay people and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons. God invites all and God's love can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. We believe that God loves you – no exceptions. |
