"Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an account of the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and reverence" (1 Peter 3"15b-16). At Christ The King, we believe that we should always be ready to share the story of our relationship with God and with the Church. However, in order to share our stories, we must first come to know them.

Faith and Bible study prepares us to give the account demanded of us. From a young age, therefore, we share the story of God's love for us and God's creation. Below are some to the opportunities available at Christ The King.

A Patristics Reading List

We will learn to read the Bible as the story of an ancient faith and through lens of modern science, history, and anthropology.
We will approach the Creeds as summary statements of the Apostolic tradition, uniting us to the past but also propelling us to deeper and fuller understanding.
We will appreciate the liturgy and sacraments as rituals of the drama that express and remember the God who is with us..

Children's Church & Sunday School
Sunday, 10 am * Sanctuary & Children's Room

Sunday School for children in Pre-K through 5th Grade is presented during Sunday morning service. Children gather with the congregation in the sanctuary at 10 am and are sent forth by the priest at the beginning of service. They convene in the Children's room for hand's on, creative learning focused on the love of God.

We invite all children to participate but understand if they are not comfortable. So, of course, if they so desire, parents may accompany their children to Sunday school and children are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary (perhaps in the Children's Corner) for the entirety of service.

Welcome to the Episcopal Church

This class is an introduction to The Christian Faith and The Episcopal Church. It is intended for those new to the Church and for those who simply want to learn more. Those seeking Confirmation or Reception into The Episcopal Church through Christ The King are expected to attend.

It is a six-week class that is offered at regular intervals. Details will be announced.

Tuesday Morning Women's Bible Study

Wednesday Evening Study
Wednesday, 6 pm * Fellowship Hall

The Wednesday Evening Study is a presentation and/or group discussion on various topics of faith life. Past programs have included The Chosen (video series) and Lent and Advent studies focusing on seasonal topics. Dinner is usually had together.

Programs are offered for a short-duration (6-8 weeks) for those who don't want to or cannot make a long-term commitment.
