Acolytes
Description
An Acolyte is the person trained to carry the processional torches to serve as a Crucifer, to assist with Communion Preparation, and to hold the Gospel for the Deacon.
In 2018 the Acolyte program was restructured to better handle scheduling with primary scheduling being handled by the Office and Training schedules and assignments left in the hands of the Warden. We have made some protocol changes as to allowing Crucifers to wear albs even when serving as traditional Acolytes which has a been a necessity due their height.
Acolyte Helpers have also been added to the schedule and their role is to assist in getting the Acolytes and Crucifers dressed and ready for the Service.
